The Saint Thurial Mountain Bike Randonnée was a success. 1300 single track aficionados came out on a foggy sunday morning to ride in the Broceliande Forest. The course was a lots of fun. The conditions were just about perfect. The weather was cool and sunny, and the grounds were moist and leafy which allowed for good grip in the turns and a little damping in the bumps. I set out to do the 55km course but got distracted at one point, missed a turn and ended up doing the 48km circuit instead. The randonnée was well organized but victim of its own success, there were several mountain bike jams on some of the technical parts. We just had to wait our turn. The rest was a fine fall-foliage roller coaster.
